Virat Kohli to step down as a Captain from ODI and T20 format

After the completion of ICC T20 international world cup, Virat Kohli will step down as a captain from ODI and T20 format. After that, Rohit Sharma will take charge of the Captaincy in white ball cricket. However, these news are not yet confirmed by BCCI or any other official sources but cited by TOI.

What did TOI quoted?

Times of India quoted saying

“Virat himself will make the announcement. He is of the view that he needs to concentrate on his batting and go back to becoming what he’s always been — the best batsman in the world.”

This is a very shocking news for Virat Kohli’s fan. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma’s fan are quite happy. But, as an India whosoever becomes captain, the winning must not stop for team India.

Why Kohli is stepping down from his Captaincy?

Kohli (age 32), made his international debut in 2008 for team India. After becoming captain, he led team India in 45 international T20. Team India won 27 matches and lost 14 matches in t20 under his captaincy. And in ODI, he led team India in 95 matches, in which India won 65 and lost 27.

But the critics always targeted Virat Kohli for not winning any major ICC trophy since he became the captain of team India. And that might be the reason for mounting pressure on Kohli to step down as Captain.
